Kaustav Mitra is the Vice-President of Innovation Ecosystems at Infosys, a $8.7B global technology services provider. In addition, he is supporting the launch of the new Infosys Foundation USA, a grant-making foundation focused on supporting greater access and inclusion in Computer Science education. He is an avid student of entrepreneurship and its role in the creation of new ecosystems and economies. Previously, he was the founder and Global Vice-President of SAP Startup Focus. This was SAP’s worldwide initiative to work with data-focused startups and was called one of the largest enterprise high tech ecosystem efforts ever. Mitra came to Silicon Valley after ten years of experience as an entrepreneur launching, growing and selling a managed IT services firm in Los Angeles.
A strong advocate for workplace diversity, Mitra’s very first blog #IHaveADaughter was on the topic of gender equity. He has an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and graduate degrees in both Mathematics and Economics, from BITS, Pilani and USC respectively. A science fiction enthusiast, Mitra is a fan of inclusive, high performance teams; a kebab aficionado and a very easy-to-convince dad.
